After a blistering weekend of 104 degree temperatures at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, Aaron came away from the weekend with another 2nd to add to his national points. With some improvements to the car, Aaron and the #21 Camaro qualified 2 seconds faster than the previous lap record, but was still .04 seconds off of the pole for Sunday’s race. Halfway through the 30 minute race, Aaron and the car began to overheat. Aaron was beginning to get dizzy and the car’s temperature gage was maxed out in the red. The car made it to the end, as well as Aaron, to bring home another 2nd place finish. The team is looking forward to the Regional/National at Reno-Fernley coming up in June.

Clear skies and a slight breeze started the Cal Club Double National weekend at Buttonwillow Raceway Park for Aaron and the #21 American Sedan Camaro. This was Aaron’s first race in this car, and with the car fresh off the dyno, practice began. At first, Aaron was a little off the pace, but after a few sessions, and a qualifying run, Aaron was starting off-pole for Saturday’s Race. The run went well, staying a consistent second throughout the race.
The Sunday race found Aaron only 2.5 tenths off of pole. The race was close at the beginning, but after 2 laps a header pipe decided to break, causing Aaron to lose valuable power and a sense of hearing. The #21 American Sedan cruised home to 2nd after a great weekend at Buttonwillow.
The team is looking forward to the next Buttonwillow national coming up in May.

After a spectacular weekend at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in California, Aaron finished the weekend with two 2nds and a new TRACK RECORD!
After throwing it off in turn one on the start of race 1, due to a brake bias adjustment, Aaron came back from 6th place to finish 2nd in ITE only a few seconds behind the leader. “It was an intense race, and with flatspotted rear tires, it made the drive even more difficult,” said Aaron, “But I kept my head down and with the help of the yellow flag, I caught up and fished 2nd.”
During race #2, Aaron had qualified the #20 ITE Firebird on Pole by over 2 seconds! Due to traffic Aaron lost the lead, but kept a close chase to the leader, and after a few close calls, brought the car home in second only inches from the leader at the line, but received the honor of a new rack record!
It was a great weekend for both Aaron and the Bailey Racing team.
July 2007
Aaron competed in the 2007 Rev It Up Tour Presented by Chevrolet where drivers come and compete in an autocross style competition in identical Chevy Cobalts. The top 10 or 15 for the day (out of hundreds of competitors) compete on the same track in brand new Chevy Corvettes. There are 6 cities throughout the nation where competitors compete.
Aaron competed in the San Francisco city event, as well as the Orange County/LA event. In both events Aaron made the final 10, and competed in the Corvettes. At the end of the day on Saturday in San Francisco, Aaron had the fastest time for the day, winning that day for the event, and finishing 5th between both days.
When the results came out for the entire nation, Aaron had the fastest time, and the highest score for the entire nation in the Pro category for competitors between the ages of 18 and 24!
“It was a really fun event,” says Aaron, “I feel I showed myself well, and am looking forward to try it again next year.”

After a fun Memorial Day weekend at Thunderhill Raceway Park, Aaron took home a 1st and 6th place finish at the Willows Grand Prix. On Saturday, the #20 Firebird had its first race in ITE and had a very unfortunate off on the first lap sending Aaron from 4th to 6th where he would finish.
During Qualifying for Sunday’s race, the LS1 engine on the Firebird decided to let go and lost power. Aaron and his team decided to pack up the Firebird, and bring out the Future Stars Racing RX7 to compete in the Spec RX7 class for Sunday. After starting at the back of the pack and having a terrible start, the #49 Black RX7 worked its way back from a 15 second deficit to pass the leader with a few laps to go and take the win.
It was a very fun race and Aaron would like to thank his crew, Dean Bailey and Reid Olsen for their help and support throughout the weekend.
